To say thanks for supporting his Magic Johnson Foundation, Earvin "Magic" Johnson paid a surprise visit to Paul Mitchell School owners at their May 2013 owners summit in Beverly Hills. Each year, students and staff from the 101 Paul Mitchell cosmetology schools raise money and awareness for selected charities. Raising $5 to $10 at a time with grassroots activities like cut-a-thons, hair shows, and car washes, the schools have raised over $11.2 million in 10 years, including $2.6 million in their 2013 campaign.
